Each applicant is required to have a national ACT score submitted by the
application deadline. If the ACT exam is not available in your area, an SAT I
score will be accepted. The average ACT for entering freshman at BYU last year
was a 27.5 composite score. It is recommended that students take the ACT in the
spring of their junior year. The exam may be taken more than once, and the
highest composite score will always be used in the admission process.
