Entering students with AP English credit are strongly encouraged
to take a First-Year Writing course (Engl 150, Honrs 150, or Phil
150). Studies show that doing so contributes greatly to their success at
the university. As part of their major requirements, some departments
also require a First-Year Writing course even for students with AP English
credit.
