Transfer Credit Overview
Most college-level courses from an accredited institution will transfer to BYU and fulfill either general education (GE), major, or elective requirements. Many colleges have "articulation agreements" with BYU that show BYU's GE requirements and corresponding courses at the transfer institution that are available to fill them. The articulation agreements currently in place can be found on the Web at transfer.byu.edu.
After you are admitted you will be able to view MyMap, which shows how your credit transferred to BYU, and if any university core requirements were filled. Prior to that time, refer to the specific articulation agreement for your school; or refer to the BYU Web site to check which classes transfer to BYU.

Some other factors which may determine how your credit transfers from another school are the following:
1. Whether or not the institution you are coming from has been accredited through the regional Association of Colleges and Schools, or if it is an institute sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
2. Military courses are evaluated using the ACE recommendations.
3. Scores on your AP and IB exams.
4. Whether or not you obtained an associate's degree in your previous institution.
