BFA    Industrial Design (73 hours)

This is a limited-enrollment program requiring departmental admissions approval. Please see the School of Technology advisor (230 SNLB) for information regarding requirements for admission to this major.

Major Requirements

1. Meet application criteria for admission into program.

2. Complete all 100-level foundation courses before admission into sophomore-level courses.

3. Submit a portfolio at the conclusion of each year for advancement to the next year's curriculum.

4. Complete the following core requirements.
   InDes 130A/B, 131A/B, 132A/B, 133A/B.

   Complete the following:

   InDes 210, 214R, 230, 231, 232, 233, 310, 340, 488.

   TTE 229.

   Complete a minimum of one hour from one of the following:

   InDes 199R, 496R.

   Complete three courses from the following:

   InDes 330, 332, 430, 432.

   Complete one additional course from the following:

   InDes 330, 332, 430, 432, 435R, 475R.

   Note: Courses taken for item 7 cannot be used for item 8.

   Complete 6 hours from the following:

   InDes 497R.

   Note: Me En 475, 476 can be substituted for this requirement.

   Complete the following art history requirement:

   InDes 339.

   Complete 9 hours of art history from the following:

   1. Complete one course from the following:
      ArtHC 201.
      Hum 201.
      Mfg 201.

      Complete one course from the following:

      ArtHC 202.

      Hum 202.

      Mfg 202.

      Complete one course from the following:

      ArtHC 350, 355, 365, 367.

      HFL 329.

   Complete 5 hours from the following:

   InDes 331R, 341, 435R, 475R, 494R.

   Mfg 220, 230, 355, 479.

   TMA 452R.

   TTE 200.

   VAStu 353R.

   Note: Courses taken for item 7 and item 8 cannot be used for item 12.

   Complete department packet and exit interview.
