Student Academic Record Appeals

Students who have non-academic emergencies or extenuating circumstances which occur after the withdraw deadline may file an appeal to be withdrawn from classes. Students wishing to add a class after the add deadline may also file an appeal to be added late. Any appeals for late withdraws or late adds must be submitted to the Registrar's Office within one year from the semester or term in question. In filing an appeal it is the student's responsibility to submit with the appeal all supporting information from instructors, physicians, counselors, employers, etc.

In addition to late withdrawals and late registration of classes, students may appeal other policies related to their registration and academic records. Any impact an approved appeal will have on a student's scholarship, financial aid, or tuition charges, will also be considered and reviewed by the appropriate offices as part of the appeals process.

Appeals forms may be obtained at the Registration Office, B-150 ASB. Appeals forms can also be found at http://petitions.byu.edu.
