Fall | Winter | Spring | Summer

The annual calendar at BYU includes two semesters and two terms. Fall semester 1998 begins the last monday in August and ends before the Christmas holidays. Winter semester is from early January to late April. Spring and summer terms begin in late April and late June, respectively. Registering for spring and summer terms allows students to accelerate their progress in many degree programs.

Fall Semester 1998

S Jan 10, 1998 Departmental application deadlines for fall semester 1998 entry to graduate study may be as early as January 10, 1998. For specific program and department deadlines and requirements, refer to the department listing in the 1998-99 BYU Graduate Catalog or check with the department.
Th Jan 15 Last day new freshmen may submit the Gordon B. Hinckley Scholarship application
Su Feb 15 Last day new freshmen may submit undergraduate applications for summer term 1998 or fall semester 1998 admission, academic scholarship, and talent awards
Su Mar 1 Last day continuing undergraduate students may apply for scholarships fall semester 1998 or winter semester 1999
Su Mar 15 Last day transfer and former BYU students (including international students) may submit undergraduate admission/scholarship applications for summer term 1998 or fall semester 1998
M Jun 1 Financial aid priority processing date for Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, and BYU loans for fall semester 1998, winter semester 1999
M Aug 3 Last day to apply for BYU short-term loans to pay fall semester 1998 tuition by the deadline
F Aug 14 Tuition payment deadline for fall semester 1998 to avoid late fee ($50, August 15–28; $90, August 31–September 14)
F Aug 21 First day summer term 1998 grades are available via Touch-tone telephone system and AIM
