Students must apply to the Counseling Psychology and Special Education Department for admission to the certification programs and/or the minor in secondary education. Applications may be obtained from the department office in 328 MCKB and will be due on December 1.

Teacher education majors in elementary and secondary education may complete special education certification requirements and be dually certificated in their major and special education.
Non-teacher education majors may take courses to certify in special education while earning their bachelor's degree. However, they must complete the degree before applying for certification.
