Study of Nursing at Brigham Young University

The College of Nursing at Brigham Young University, established in 1952, is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission and the Utah State Board of Nursing and has approval from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The mission of the College of Nursing is to provide students with broadly based knowledge and skills necessary to become nursing professionals and informed citizens.

Baccalaureate graduates are prepared to function in generalist roles in hospital and community settings. They also have excellent preparation for entrance into graduate programs. Graduates of the MS program are prepared for a variety of advanced practice and leadership roles in the health care delivery system.
The faculty of the college are committed to creating a stimulating learning environment based on Christian principles. They maintain a broad range of research and clinical interests.
Student resources include a fully equipped learning resource center with audiovisual and computer learning aids, a physiological research laboratory, a research center, and a state-of-the-art clinical simulation laboratory. Clinical practice opportunities exist in a variety of urban and rural hospital, school, home, and community settings along the Wasatch Front. Students may gain extended experiences with specialized national and international health programs.

Scholarships and Awards

Scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate students. Information about additional sources of funding for study are available in the College of Nursing Advisement Center. Research assistantships and teaching assistantships are also available.
