Statistical Highlights

Each year, Brigham Young University grants nearly 8,500 degrees to students in April, August and December. Commencement Exercises are held in April and August. Those who graduate in December are invited to participate in the April ceremonies that follow their graduation.

Please note that graduation statistics for recent graduation ceremonies will be available 3-6 weeks following graduation.

Highlights of the April 2008 Graduating Class*

1,693 for December, 4,583 for April, for a combined total of 6,276 degrees were awarded to Brigham Young University graduates at Commencement Exercises April 24, 2008. They are as follows:

53.0% of the individuals in the graduating class were married. 58.9% of the males and 46.6% of the females were married.

Grade-Point Average
The cumulative grade point average for the graduates receiving Baccalaureate Degrees was 3.16 for December, 3.21 for April, for a combined grade-point average of 3.2.

Church Membership
99.2% of undergraduates are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Transfer Student Statistics
27.3% of the undergraduates and 49.4% of the graduate students have attended other institutions of higher learning.
