Welcome!

Application deadlines have changed!  Click here for more details.

Welcome to our new website!  We have formatted this website to guide you through the Financial Aid and Scholarship steps and insure that you do not miss anything.  When properly used, this format will make certain that you know how much money you will need for school, what your resources are and how to obtain those resources.  Everything you need to know can be found in Steps 1 through 8 (on the left).  So go ahead and get started!

Step 1: Count the Cost

The Harold B. Lee Library
The cost of BYU is greatly reduced due to tithing funds from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Luke 14:28: "For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?"

If we "liken all scriptures unto us," (1 Nephi 19:23) we could say, "For which of you, intending to get an education, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost?" The wise student will follow the instructions below to figure out how much it will cost to attend BYU.

We use the official Cost of Attendance to determine federal grant and loan eligibility. Tuition is a fixed cost while other costs listed vary from student to student.

Complete the Budget Worksheet to calculate how much it will cost you to be a student at BYU. Continue to use the Budget Worksheet as your spending guide and make adjustments as necessary.
