Cost of Attendance
The university provides an official Cost of Attendance for the academic year which is used in calculating eligibility for federal grant and loan programs. When Stafford Loan funds are used, the total amount of aid a student is receiving (including scholarships) cannot exceed this Cost of Attendance. While tuition amounts listed are fixed costs, your costs in other areas may vary from those listed below. In order to calculate your personal costs, complete the Budget Worksheet.

*Computer Allowance for undergraduate and graduate students: If your total aid has met the Cost of Attendance limit but you still have Stafford Loan eligibility, a one-time increase of up to $1000 to the Cost of Attendance is permitted for the purchase of a computer. Submit the Request Computer Allowance form with documentation of proof of purchase or copy of pending contract.
*Computer Allowance for Marriott and Law Students: $1,500 is available to first-year students only. No additional form is required.
**Personal expenses include the cost of BYU health insurance premiums for a single student. BYU health insurance is required if you are not covered by another annual policy. Students are billed each semester and term for the entire academic year including future periods of non-attendance.
