Step 6: Review Your Awards
A) Review Your Awards
After federal financial aid awards are determined based on the students eligibility, the award will be posted to My Financial Center > View Financial Aid Summary for the student to review . This is also a good time to refer back to your budget.
Note: Awarding for Fall 2013 will not begin until mid-June and continue through the 2013-2014 school year.
B) Accept or Decline Funds
If offered any federal loans (Stafford, PLUS, Grad PLUS), 'accept' or 'decline' them on My Financial Center. We automatically accept your grants (money you do not have to pay back) for you.
Note: If you accept a loan, there will be additional To-do List items posted for first-time BYU borrowers.
C) Authorize Direct Deposit
Authorize direct deposit to your bank account. This authorization is not the same as the one you may have completed for your BYU paycheck to be directly deposited into your bank account. If you do not authorize direct deposit, any excess funds will be mailed to the mailing address you have listed on myBYU, which may delay your receipt of funds.
