FAFSA DEADLINE

For Pell, ACG, SMART Grants, Stafford, PLUS and Graduate PLUS Loans

• The absolute deadline for submitting a correct and complete FAFSA for 2007-2008 is June 30, 2008 and your valid FAFSA results must arrive at BYU before your last date of attendance for the year.
  
  
  
  • For example, if you will attend only during the fall and winter semesters, your valid FAFSA results must arrive at BYU before your last date of attendance for winter semester.
  
  
  • If you are selected for verification, you must complete that process before you may be awarded aid. You have a maximum of 120 days beyond the last day of your attendance, or August 30, 2008, whichever comes first, to complete verification for Pell, ACG and SMART Grants.
  
  
• If you will be getting married, talk to your financial aid counselor before completing the FAFSA to determine the best time to apply.
  
  
  • This is important, because once you complete the FAFSA as a single student, the government will not permit you to change your status to married later in the same academic year.

PROCESSING DATES AND DEADLINES

Fall 2007

Aug 28	Fall tuition deadline (more info) fin services
Sep 17	Add/Drop Deadline. All semester and block classes for federal aid payment must be added.
Sep 18	Final day to pay tuition and avoid classes being deleted* (refund schedule)
Dec 21	Last day to complete Stafford, PLUS, Grad PLUS processing for semester. Last day to submit signed promissory note for MSM and Woolley Loans.

 

Winter 2008

Day	Description

June 19	Last day to complete Stafford, PLUS, Grad PLUS processing for term.

 

Summer 2008

*If federal aid is not awarded and you lack other means to pay tuition by this deadline, you may consider applying for an immediate BYU Short-term Loan in My Financial Center in Route Y.
