About FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to determine eligibility for federal Pell Grants and Stafford Loans; you will need to reapply each new school year. The fastest way to complete the FAFSA is online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.

The FAFSA requires a signature. If you apply online at http://www.pin.ed.gov, an electronic signature (PIN) will be emailed to you.

You also need to apply for aid through Financial Aid VIP accessed through Route Y. You may be asked to submit more information to us if you are chosen for verification.

Suggestions for Faster FAFSA Results

Have the necessary tax forms (yours, parents, spouse) with you when filling out the FAFSA. It saves time if you use accurate figures and don't guess.

Apply for a PIN at http://www.pin.ed.gov and submit the FAFSA online. This ensures the shortest processing time possible. You and your parents may both apply for a PIN if you are a dependent.
