What is a Registrar?

The Registrar at a college or university is responsible for all student records. The registrar ensures the records are accurate, student information is protected, and academic policies are implemented and updated as needed.

The Registrar's Office begins working with students shortly after they are admitted until they graduate. The personnel and students work closely together to conduct class registration, schedule classes and facilities, provide a catalog of all courses offered at the university, support faculty with grade submission, verify enrollments and degrees, provide transcripts, plan and direct graduation ceremonies, distribute diplomas, and determine the eligibility of student athletes.
