The procession begins August 13, 2009 at 3:20 p.m.
All candidates for graduation should assemble at designated areas in the parking lots located north of the Smoot Administration Building (ASB) by 3:10 p.m. Programs will be provided for each candidate at the Marriott Center. Students are encouraged to keep their programs and take them to their college convocations the next day.
Candidates for graduate degrees are to line up in the parking lot on the north side of the ASB. Doctoral candidates will line up at the front of the line, followed by juris doctorate and then master's candidates. Graduates do not need to line up alphabetically.
Candidates for bachelor's degrees are to form lines according to college in the parking lots north of the ASB. (Please see map.)
The board of trustees, color guard, deans, directors, and special guests will assemble in the designated area immediately north of the ASB. The remainder of the faculty will gather on the sidewalks east and west of the ASB.
Should it rain and be too wet to line up outside, all faculty and graduates are requested to be in their designated seating areas inside the Marriott Center by 3:45 p.m.
Families and friends are invited to take their seats in the Marriott Center and view the academic procession via large-screen television. Doing so will reduce congestion along the path of the parade. Doors will open at 2 p.m.; parents and other guests should be seated by 3:15 p.m.
